LayOver Crew – Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 8, 2025 · Updated: November 4, 2026 (signed-in or not, in the usage statistics)
This Privacy Policy describes how Jean François VICTOOR ("we", "us", or "our"), creator and operator of LayOver Crew ("App", "Site"), developed by SC3I, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the LayOver Crew app and website.
By using LayOver Crew, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email, and other profile information.
- Usage Data: We collect information on how you interact with the app (features used, activity logs, etc.).
- Anonymous usage statistics: the app measures its audience with Matomo, hosted on our own server (layover.guide), never by a third party. It records which screens and features are used, whether the app is used signed in or not, the app version and the type of device, with a random identifier per installation. No name, email or account identifier is sent, IP addresses are anonymised, and the raw data is deleted after 13 months. These statistics are used only to improve the app and are not shared. You can turn them off at any time in the app: Information → Anonymous usage statistics.
- Crash reports: when the app crashes or meets an unexpected error, it sends a technical report to Firebase Crashlytics (Google), our service provider for this purpose only. The report holds the error and where it happened in the app's code, the app version, the device model and system version, and a random identifier per installation. No name, email, account identifier or content you entered is sent. Google keeps these reports for 90 days. They are used only to find and fix bugs.
- Device Information: We may collect information about your device, such as model, OS version, and unique identifiers.
- Content You Provide: Posts, messages, and other content shared on LayOver Crew.
- Layovers and flights: the layovers you add (airport, days and times, hotel, notes, check-in and check-out), your flights, and the activities and requests you plan on a layover. Your hotel, notes and flights are not shown to other crew members. They see the airport and days of your layovers only if you make them public, and an activity according to the visibility you choose for it. Our team reads the requests you send in order to answer them, and members free at the same time may be suggested to you, and you to them, for a shared activity.
- Travel documents: the tickets, bookings and wallet passes you add to a layover stay in the app's folder on your phone. They are never uploaded to our servers.
